Prawn Poppers

Prawn Poppers

Yup Yup they look as they tasted…simply Yummy!!!!!! :)

Prawn Poppers are a welcoming change from your mundane LCHF snacks such as Almonds. Real easy to make, with less preparation time and if you have an electric deep fryer real fast to cook too and if you don’t have an electric fryer max 15 min in a deep dish pan for 500 grams of prawns.

Marination Ingredients:

500 grams of medium sized prawns

1 tbsp chilly powder

1 tsp coriander powder

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

1/2 tsp black pepper powder

1 tsp ginger garlic paste

1 tsp apple cider vinegar or 1 tsp lemon juice

Salt as per taste

Optional: You can add 1/2 tsp garam masala, 1/2 tsp chaat masala which will enhance the taste. All this if you can find this in an Asian store near you :)

Preparation:

2 medium sized eggs and 1/2 tsp barbeque seasoning for coating the prawns

Coconut oil to deep fry

Garnish:

Cream cheese or any kind of low carb dip you like

Procedure:

1) Mix all the ingredients mentioned above in the Marination section and let the prawns marinate in the mixture for 15-20 minutes.

2) Crack the eggs in a bowl and add the barbeque seasoning to it and mix well.

3) Fill the deep dish pan with coconut oil, enough for the prawns to get fully submerged in the oil.

4) Heat the coconut oil on medium to high flame.

5) Once the oil is hot, dip the prawns in the egg mixture and deep fry them.

6) Depending on the size of your pan and how many prawns you put in every batch, cook the prawns till they are golden brown in color which will approximately take 3-4 minutes per batch.   *Prawns cook really fast*

Serve with cream cheese or any low carb dip you like and munch on :)

They are tasty, healthy and satisfying. The eggs coating will make them slightly crunchy :) Prawns fry with a twist :)

Enjoy!!!!
